ANNUAL SPRING CONCERT

Each spring, students have the unique opportunity to perform in our Annual Spring Concert at the historic Tennessee Theatre! With professional lighting, choreography, costumes, props, and full sets, SAFD students experience a professional performance process and environment that excites our students, propels their progress, and encourages growth.

Widely knowns around SAFD as the "highlight of the school year," we prioritize each student both on stage and backstage to create a rewarding, fun, and unforgettable performance experience!

ON STAGE OPPORTUNITY

Performed on the historic Tennessee Theatre stage, Studio Arts for Dancers provides a uniquely professional performance experience for dance students in Knoxville, Tennessee. SAFD holds a matinee performance for our Children's Program, Youth Program, and Pre-Professional Program, and an evening performance for our Youth Program and Pre-Professional Program. This unique opportunity allows dancers to experience a professional performance process, gain a sense of community and teamwork with their classmates, and share their year of hard work with their friends and families!

Including students ages 5+ through Advanced, each class gets to perform a choreographic work on the Tennessee Theatre stage. The preparation process includes in-studio run throughs and in-theatre tech and dress rehearsals. Simulating a professional dance experience, SAFD staff show the students how to prepare for the performance just as professional dancers would. Mandatory rehearsals for the Spring Show are held as part of class beginning after Spring Break. Additional weekend rehearsals are required beginning 2-4 weeks before the performance.
